The Queen's favorite grandchild has been revealed by a royal expert.

• While the Queen is undoubtedly fond of all her grandchildren, a royal expert has revealed that she is particularly close to Princess Charlotte.

The Queen shares a special relationship with great-granddaughter, Princess Charlotte, with the pair bonding over their love of horses, according to royal expert Ingrid Seward. 

Ingrid, who is editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, told Fabulous, "While Prince Philip loved babies, the Queen has always preferred being around children when they are a bit older, especially if it involves teaching them to sit astride a horse. 

“Princess Charlotte—who is pony-mad—has always been a favorite. The Duchess of Cambridge revealed that when she was born, the Queen ‘was really thrilled’ she was a girl."

The Queen has ten great-grandchildren in total—with two more on the way. 

Princess Beatrice has just announced that she is pregnant with her first child, while grandson Harry and Meghan Markle will welcome their little girl this summer. 

There has also been some recent speculation about the Queen's favorite child and many may be shocked to hear that it's apparently not future King Prince Charles, despite the pair sharing a close bond.

While we're sure all four of Queen Elizabeth's children are close to Her Majesty, the monarch is reported to share a special bond with their son Prince Andrew, according to Channel 5 documentary, The Royal Family At War. 

In the recent documentary Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell reveals, "Andrew has always been the Queen's favorite son and he has never done anything wrong in her eyes."

While we always take these claims with a hefty pinch of salt, this is a theme that is also explored in an episode entitled 'Favourites' in The Crown—yet another storyline that prompts discussion around how accurate The Crown actually is.
