Why will Sophie Wessex and Prince Edward be apart from Lady Louise?

Sophie Wessex and Prince Edward's home in Surrey was a gift to the couple from Queen Elizabeth following their wedding in 1999. 

The royal residence is where Sophie and Edward have brought up their two children Lady Louise, 16, and James, Viscount Severn, 12.

But with the country plunged into a second lockdown, it looks as though Lady Louise might not be joining her family at the home until December.

Lady Louise is a pupil at private girls school St Mary's Ascot—she joined the sixth form in September and is understood to board at the school.

So given that schools are remaining open while the country is in a four-week lockdown, Lady Louise may remain at school for the duration.

While 12-year-old James is said to be a day pupil at St George's school, which is just a short drive from the family home.

How are the rest of the Royal Family spending lockdown?

Working Royal Family members including the Queen, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Duchess Catherine, and Prince William are expected to stop in-person engagements for lockdown.

The Queen and Prince Philip traveled from Sandringham to Windsor Castle together earlier this week and will remain there throughout lockdown.

While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may decide to ditch London and travel with their three children to Anmer Hall in Norfolk, which they did for the first lockdown.
