Sarah Ferguson says she's 'most persecuted woman' in the royal family, only days after Meghan's legal win
Sarah Ferguson claims she's the 'most persecuted woman in the history of the royal family' in latest explosive interview
Sarah Ferguson says she was, "maybe the most persecuted woman in the history of the royal family," in a brand new interview with a French publication. In the interview she talks about her personal life, including her relationship with Prince Andrew.
- Sarah Ferguson spoke about the negative media coverage she endured after her separation from Prince Andrew.
- The proud mother and grandmother also discussed her unusual living arrangement with her ex.
- In other royal news, Kate Middleton places ‘duty before self’ as she prioritises the Queen this Christmas
The Duchess of York's claims come only days after Meghan Markle won her court case against Mail on Sunday. Sarah, who's had her own legal battles with the press, spoke about her treatment after the dissolution of her and Prince Andrew's marriage in 1992.
She said in her interview with Madame Figaro, "I was maybe the most persecuted woman in the history of the royal family," she said, "but I'm still here."
On her resilience, she continued, "The bruised reed that doesn't break is in my DNA."
The Duchess of York discussed her beloved daughters Beatrice and Eugenie, saying they're her priority and that motherhood is the one role she's excelled at.
Her daughters, the only children of Prince Andrew, now have children of their own and despite Sarah and Prince Andrew being split up, the Duchess says her wedding day remains one of the best days of her life.
"I loved him," she said. "And I still love him today."

The bond between the Duchess and the royal family remains as strong as ever. As a matter of fact, it's been said that the Queen is 'more of a mother' to former daughter-in-law Sarah Ferguson than her own was.
Despite the news that Prince Andrew is being sued for sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre, allegations which he vehemently denies, his ex-wife has stood by him throughout it all.
"I will stay by his side," she said. "Because I believe in him, it is a good man."
