Prince Harry and Prince William's rift is 'thawing'—but he's still 'stuck in a war of words' with this royal
It's been a testing few months for the royal family
Prince Harry's rift with Prince William may be thawing, but the Duke of Sussex is yet to make amends with his father.
- Prince Harry is stuck in a "war of words" with his father Prince Charles.
- The Duke's rift with Prince William is said to be thawing after the brothers reunited to pay tribute to their late mother earlier this month.
- This follows royal news that Kate Middleton's $89 jeans show a move away from the skinny style.
Prince Harry and Prince William appear to have gone some way in beginning to heal their rift following months of royal tension—even putting on a united front at the recent unveiling of a memorial statue for Princess Diana.
But, the Duke of Sussex is still at a "war of words" with his father, Prince Charles, following claims that he cut Prince Harry and Meghan Markle off financially when they stepped back as senior royals and played a part in Harry's "genetic pain and suffering" growing up. Comments that left the Queen deeply hurt.
According to royal insider, Duncan Larcombe, Harry and his father are far from making the peace.
Writing in his Woman column, Duncan said, "Although the rift with the Duke of Cambridge shows signs of thawing after the brothers unveiled their mother's statue, Harry, I understand, remains in a war of words with his father."
With Prince Charles away in Scotland when Harry recently returned to the UK, the pair's paths didn't cross during Harry's trip home.
And with Prince Harry's recent comments about Prince Charles' parenting still fresh in the minds of most people, Duncan says it's no surprise.

"He is unlikely to have spoken to Prince Charles since he slammed his parenting skills in a podcast watched around the world, and his quick exit from the country following the unveiling will have left little time for peace talks," he confessed.
Weeks after dropping several royal bombshells in a rare tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry revealed he wanted to prioritize fatherhood with a focus on "breaking the cycle" of the past.
During an appearance on Dax Shepherd's podcast, Armchair Expert, Prince Harry was very open about his mental health struggles.
He said it was his experiences as a child that really influenced how he wanted his children to be raised.
While he doesn't want to "point the finger" at Prince Charles, Prince Harry hopes to take a different approach with parenting to help avoid the struggles he went through as a child.
"Isn’t life about breaking the cycle?” he told the hosts. “There’s no blame. I don’t think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody, but certainly when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I’m going to make sure that I break that cycle, so I don’t pass it on basically.”
Suggestions that Prince Harry and Prince Charles are still at a "war of words" comes after royal experts claimed Harry could feel more "torn" than ever between his two worlds—that of his royal roots back in the UK and his new life with Meghan Markle in the US—after his emotional reunion with William at the start of the month.
