Oprah went on to say that normally she would talk to people she was interviewing, but only managed to text Meghan to find out what her 'intention' for the interview was.
She revealed that their texts revealed that they were "aligned in [their] goal." While she went on to say that: "Our shared intention was the truth. They wanted to be able to tell their story and tell it in such a way that allowed them to be truthful as possible."

In the interview, Meghan revealed that someone in the royal family showed concerns about the colour Archie's skin would be. Referring to this, Oprah said that this revelation was one which made it such a powerful interview, as "Meghan and Harry decided they wanted to, well, go there."
She went on to say: "When you have somebody who's as willing to be as open as vulnerable, as truthful as they were. so I don't give myself credit for that. I give myself credit for asking the questions, but the reason the interview was the way it was was because they answered they way they did."
