Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Royal Variety Performance arrival was full of hints at their “enthusiasm” for this special occasion after a difficult few weeks amid the Queen’s health woes.

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Royal Variety Performance arrival “signalled” their delight at attending this glamorous occasion after what has been an intensely challenging time for the Royal Family. Just days previously, the Queen’s sprained back meant she was forced to miss this year’s Remembrance Service, much to her disappointment. Since then the Queen stepped out with a corgi for her first in-person appearance for over a month.

Despite seeming to have returned to “light” duties at Windsor Castle, however, she hadn’t been expected to attend the Royal Variety Performance, as Her Majesty hasn't appeared here since 2012. Instead her grandson Prince William, who is second in the royal line of succession, and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, attended the iconic event.

As reported by The Mirror, body language expert and author Judi James has analysed Kate Middleton and Prince William’s “subtle” signs during their Royal Variety Performance arrival. And it seems the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were full of “excitement” to be enjoying a night out together after such a challenging time.

Judi told the publication, “There is an undeniable twinkle in William’s eye here that suggests an air of anticipation and excitement that has often been lacking in royal body language at these events in the past. His hand-rubbing gesture as he walks towards the theatre is a signal of enthusiasm as though he can’t wait to get in there and see the show.”

Whilst Kate too was supposedly completely engrossed in the Royal Variety Performance night as she received flowers after her arrival from two adorable children.

“Kate also brings something fresh to her bouquet ceremony, chatting to the children with a rounded-cheek and slightly pursed lip smile that suggest undivided attention and interest in what they have to say,” the body language expert added.

And it wasn’t just Kate Middleton and Prince William’s general body language, but their posture and outfits that showcased just how much they “totally adore” stepping out at these formal events.

Judi explained, “They might be more than at home wearing jeans, boots and other casual clothes but there are always some subtle body language signals that reveal William and Kate totally adore packing on the more romantic A-list glamour for formal evening events like this Royal Command Performance.”

For the annual occasion, Kate Middleton stunned in a Jenny Packham dress in a rich forest green shade, complete with glimmering sequins. Whilst Prince William’s velvet look from the Earthshot Prize Awards was echoed in his navy velvet jacket for the Royal Variety Performance.

Opening up about their outfits, Judi said, “Kate’s top-to-toe shimmering sequins and the way her hair has been styled in a swept-over cascade of curls is carried off perfectly via her very confident, elegant posture that shows the look off to perfection while William’s velvet jacket is still looking like a homage to his screen hero James Bond.”

After such a challenging time amid the Queen’s health woes, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Royal Variety Performance “signals” certainly suggest that the couple were relaxed and ready to enjoy this special night.
