As their ten-year wedding anniversary looms, Kate Middleton has been praised for “saving” Prince William following the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
Royal experts have watched their relationship blossom in the twenty years since they met at St. Andrews University in 2001.
And now, as their ten-year wedding anniversary approaches, some have gone as far as to say Kate “saved” the future King from a difficult time in his life, despite having to face a "steep learning curve" on joining the royal family.
Speaking on True Royalty TV’s The Royal Beat - available on True Royalty TV from Saturday 13th February - royal biographer, Angela Levin, said, “I think that Kate has helped save William.”

What she is no doubt referring to is the monumental loss 15-year-old Prince William and his brother, Prince Harry, suffered when their mother, Princess Diana, died in a tragic accident in 1997, at the age of just 36.

The fall-out that followed their mothers death was huge, and the backlash that surrounded the family when Prince Charles embarked on a new relationship with The Duchess of Cornwall - who previously opened up about the pressure of being part of the family - was a lot to deal with.
But, despite all the madness, Kate was a beacon of light and supported Prince William from the beginning of their relationship.
Angela Levin explained, “I think it was very difficult for him coming out of a dysfunctional family, losing his mum so young and I think he was in a very difficult place. She really encouraged him.”
Kate 'saved him' following the death of Princess Diana
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have gone on to have three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. And Kate’s own upbringing with Mike and Carole Middleton has underpinned a huge part of how the couple raise their children.
“I think she has helped him to be a husband by introducing him to her own family a lot and spending time with a normal family and being a dad,” Angela Levin said.
Kate has given up a lot to be part of The Firm, but she did it all for love.
“Her whole life is to make him happy, I think,” Angela confessed. “She found things that really make him feel important and worthy rather than just going to cut ribbons.”
