Louise Redknapp breaks her silence on ex-husband Jamie’s baby news
The Strictly star speaks out
Louise Redknapp has confirmed she’s not “in despair” over the arrival of Jamie Redknapp’s new baby, Raphael Anders Redknapp.
Jamie and Frida started dating back in 2020 and tied the knot in October, just weeks before their first child arrived.
And the singer and former Strictly star took to Instagram to clear up rumours after weeks of speculation that she was “in despair” as her ex-husband of 19 years Jamie moves on with his new wife.
Louise—who shares two sons Charley, 16, and Beau, 12, with Jamie—wrote, "I'd really love to clarify that "Louise" is not in despair or anything like it!!
"I have my two gorgeous boys that I adore more than anything in the world, the best family around me and I'm having the best time of my life in my career and with the most wonderful friends that a girl could hope for."
Louise, 47, is currently touring the country in Dolly Parton’s 9 till 5 musical and having the “time of her life” doing so.
Thankfully Louise is in a better place now after revealing that she dealt with suicidal thoughts following the end of her marriage, which she partly blames Strictly for.

She told You magazine, “I sank to my knees, crouched down by the radiator and sobbed and sobbed. That was the first time I ever wondered whether I would be better off not being here.”

Louise continued to say that sometimes she would consider throwing herself in front of a bus but never went through with the thought. “I would be standing in Central London, watching the buses whiz past and I would wonder whether it would be easier for a bus to take me out. All it would take was for me to step out at the wrong moment and it would all be over."
When asked if she was genuinely contemplating suicide, Louise said, "I think so, for a split second."
Louise revealed that it was her two children that helped her get through this dark time. She stated, “I’ve got two people that need me, and they’re the loves of my life,” she continued, “they’re the only thing that kept me going. Them and my mum.”
The couple are now co-parenting, which Jamie recently said has its own set of challenges.
“It's never easy but you have to make sure the kids come first and foremost and you make sure that you're there to support them as much as possible.”
