What's the best shape jogger for your body type?
When it comes to choosing the best joggers to slide into your loungewear wardrobe, you might want to consider the shape of the joggers and how they might work with your body type. While anybody shape can wear joggers, there are a few different shapes of joggers that might work better for certain silhouettes.
If you have a pear-shaped body, this generally means you have a smaller waist and wider hips. For the most flattering joggers for your shape, you should look for a jogger that has less gathering at the waist and sits flatter against your body, like a pair of relaxed-fit trousers.
Traditionally joggers have always tapered at the ankles, but as joggers have become more of a fashion-led item and not simply just for relaxing in, we're seeing a wider variety of leg silhouettes, mimicking some of the best jeans.
Joggers with heavy gathering and tapered or cuffed hems will accentuate hips and are great for anyone looking to add curves or balance a larger bust.
As with many other styles, those with a rectangular-shaped body will suit most styles and silhouettes of joggers but may opt for more gathered and fuller hipped styles to create curves.
Similarly, those with apple-shaped bodies may also opt to avoid highly gathered styles as they will add bulk to your middle. Opt for flat-fitted styles for the neatest fit.
