Sharon Sweeney

Group Features Director

Coming up with an idea that will create a great feature is what gets Sharon out of bed in the morning. She has worked in lifestyle magazines for more than 30 years and is still passionate about writing and sharing information, whether that’s about inspiring women, fabulous places to discover, brilliant books to read, wonderful performing arts or tapping into lifestyle trends.

She currently commissions and edits articles across Woman & Home, Woman's Weekly, Woman and Woman's Own, managing a team who create award-winning travel content and features that cover the lifestyle gamut from real life memoirs to finance and gardening. In the past, she has written for The Guardian, BBC Homes and Antiques, Practical Parenting and more. From glam to gritty, she has interviewed authors such as Isabelle Allende and victims of the child sex abuse scandal. She also co-wrote The Beekeeper’s Bible

Formerly head of a creative content copy team, she can turn her hand to writing on topics as diverse as public health campaigns, film launches and fancy ovens. As well as hanging out with her three grown-up children, in her spare time she packs in swimming, Pilates, yoga and singing. She is gently taming an unruly garden and shares her home cooking @honoroakkitchen. For the future, she's dreaming of living in France, writing, growing dye plants, making textile art... and becoming a concert pianist – we can all dream!
