Lee Durrell, wife of the late naturalist Gerald Durrell, has announced that she will join our new Woman & Home holiday to Corfu - guiding you around the island that inspired her husband's pioneering work.
If you've been watching ITV's hit drama The Durrells, you'll already know and love this magical island. When he was a boy, Gerald Durrell moved to Corfu with his family, kick-starting his passion for wildlife - and our new holiday will take you to all of his favourite wild and beautiful places.
"The magic of Gerald Durrell's childhood can still be experienced and savoured in Corfu," says Lee, a famous naturalist and writer, and honorary director of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
Our exclusive five-day holiday to Corfu includes some fantastic treats for wildlife lovers and Durrell's fans. You'll meet Lee, who will give a private talk about her family's love of the island and her late husband Gerald's pioneering role in wildlife conservation. Lee will also accompany you on a visit to some of the family's favourite places in Corfu, including the locations used in ITV series The Durrells.
Lee will be the perfect guide to the wild Corfu that she and Gerry fell in love with. "It is a privilege for me to be with people on their visit to Corfu, to watch their sense of enchantment unfold as the sun, sea and flower-filled olive groves that so beguiled the young Gerry once again weave their spell."
We have arranged five-star luxury accommodation for your stay on the island,and you'll also get the chance to take a cruise on the Ionian Sea to the Greek port of Parga and the tiny, unspoilt island of Paxos. Plus there will be plenty of time to relax by the pool or on the hotel's private beach, and to explore Corfu at your own pace.
The trip, which departs in May and September 2018, includes return flights and transfers, all breakfasts and dinners, and special lunches in Parga and at the famous White House in Kalami - which was once home to the Durrells.
