Jennifer Lopez is bringing '90s space buns back - just a chicer and more grown-up version
There are no Emma Bunton vibes here.
Jennifer Lopez's space buns are proof that the singer can take any hairstyle and make it look chic.
The singer is known for being adventurous with her locks, making long-time hairstylist Chris Appleton's job a lot easier.
Recent favourites have included the messy topknot, that big supermodel pony for Inauguration Day and now she's whet our appetites for 90s space buns (no we never thought we'd be saying JLo and space buns in the same sentence either).

In pictures on Appleton's Instagram feed, Lopez is seen sporting the double-bun hairstyle. But instead of slicked back and neat, the buns are loose, thrown up even, with thick strands pinned to the sides to showcase her current chunky highlights.
How to recreate JLo's space buns
All you need is a hairbrush, clear elastics, texturing spray and hairpins.
First, split your hair in a middle part at the nape of your neck to divide your hair into two sections. Then, brush strands into two pigtails and secure with clear elastics. Mist with texturing spray to add a little grit to the hair.

Next, twist each pigtail into a bun and secure with hairpins to secure them in place. Finally, use a flat iron to give your front tendrils a pretty bend. Pin one of those strands of hair behind your ear.
Pair with hoops, an oversized white shirt and sneakers like JLo and wham! here comes our favourite spring 2021 look.
