Gucci wants to give you lashes that look 3 times thicker
This is best mascara hack you'll ever hear.
Not everyone is born with Bambi-style lashes and that why this Gucci mascara hack is so genius.
Mascara application techniques are probably some of the most diverse - and heavily debated - out there. For some women the number of coats they apply depends on the day of the week. Others use featherlight sweeps of their best mascara, taking it up to the tips.
But according to Gucci's Global Makeup Artist Thomas de Kluyver, the trick to really faking a false lash look is to concentrate the bulk of your mascara at the roots - rather than on the ends,
"My favourite trick with mascara is what I call 'invisible mascara'," says de Kluyver "It's like an incredibly natural look with your mascara. The idea is that it looks like you're not wearing anything at all, but it gives you really nice definition on the lashes.
"First take your mascara and remove any excess product. Then push it into the roots and gently push it up through the lash. Always make sure that there is more mascara at the root than there is on the ends of the eyelash. I'm doing one coat over the whole lash and adding a second or third coat just to the roots."
Kluyver's mascara of choice? Gucci Beauty's Mascara L'Obscur, of course, a thick buildable formula, housed in a boudoir-inspired pink and gold tube, that creates full-bodied lashes without ever clumping.
