There have been whispers that Jennifer Lopez's hair stylist was going to bring his signature 'glass hair' look home for us mere mortals. Today the Chris Appleton Color Wow MONEY mask has landed and even frazzled strands can radiate a JLo glow.
Appleton, whose celebrities also include Kim Kardashian West, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry, has been credited as “the man who changed Hollywood hair” thanks to his uncanny knack for creating iconic money shots that keep his A-list clients trending. Most recently, J.Lo's cascading waves at the Presidential Inauguration and her short pixie crop for the cover of Allure were both examples of his undeniable talent for reinvention.
And so MONEY Masque was born, Appleton's first collaboration with Color Wow as the brand's global creative director.

When Appleton started working with Color Wow’s in-house chemist, Dr. Joe Cincotta, he knew he wanted a singular mask that would deliver a massive hit of hydration to fine, thin, frizzy, coarse and thick hair but without the weight.
“What I wanted was one formula that could give optimal texture for styling hair so it always looks and feels amazing in the finished style," says Appleton.
A tall order indeed, which is why expect to be surprised by the texture at first glance. MONEY does not resemble a typical hair mask - it's not a cream or a gloopy paste but a jelly-like formula that looks more like an expensive pot of moisturizer.

This was intentional for two reasons: by avoiding an emulsion full of oils and waxes, no greasy residue is left on the hair to drag it down.
The MONEY Masque's nourishing benefits can be credited to blue sea kale, which is rich in sulphur and binds to damaged keratin to improve hair's elasticity. There's also an algae blend with sea kelp that's rich in minerals and antioxidants, idea for porous and chemically-processed hair.
"I’ve been doing hair since I was 9, and what has always meant the most to me is seeing how great hair completely changes how a woman feels about herself," explains Appleton. "MONEY Masque is a total game-changer. It totally transforms the hair texture… which makes a woman look - and feel! Like a million bucks.”
Chris Appleton x Color Wow MONEY Masque is available today Stateside and on the 25th March in the UK but you can sign up for VIP access.
