Bobbi Brown's Jones Road is expanding into skincare
A new chapter opens for Jones Road.
News of Bobbi Brown's Jones Road skincare line has sent fans wild with excitement. At 63, the makeup mogul shows no signs of slowing down, proving instead that she is the master of reinvention.
Jones Road is Brown's first new beauty venture since leaving her eponymous brand in 2016. Named after an East Hampton street, the collection launched in October with makeup front and centre. Included in the line is an ultra inky mascara (the best mascara on the market according to shoppers); a non-stick lipgloss; two different eyeshadow formulas; an eyeliner and the tinted cream Miracle Balm.
With clean beauty as her ultimate goal, the entire line-up is formulated using the Credo Clean Standard, which prohibits the use of over 2,700 ingredients (formaldehyde, phthalates, methoxyethanol, et al) and also takes into account ingredient purity and sustainable sourcing.
At the time of launch, Brown posted on her website: "Four years ago, after I left Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, one of those questions was: Why can't I find makeup products that are both clean and high-performance — that don't sacrifice one for the other? What I wanted was the makeup equivalent of a Swiss Army Knife: easy, cool, multi-purpose products that could be used to nail any look, whether it be no-makeup makeup or something with more drama."
And now Brown has extended that ethos to a four-piece skincare collection. Standouts include her Miracle Cream, which blankets skin in a rich layer of shea butter, sunflower seed oil and avocado oil. It takes its inspiration from the barrier creams her husband and son apply when they ski.
There's also an eye cream, which contains macadamia seed oil and plays nicely under makeup, and two innovative 'stick' formulas. The Oil Stick is a take-anywhere roll-on that delivers apricot, jojoba, rosehip and sunflower oils to parched skin. And the genius Hippie Stick - a buttery balm you can literally use anywhere and everywhere (face, body, hair) - smells as heavenly as it is nourishing.
