We are in love with Queen Letizia's navy trench coat - and it may just be the perfect investment for this season
Queen Letizia's navy trench coat was the perfect autumnal look as she stepped out in Villaviciosa with her husband and daughter
Queen Letizia's navy trench coat was the perfect rainy-day piece as the Queen opted for a stylish yet waterproof look.
On October 21, Queen Letizia of Spain stepped out with King Felipe VI of Spain and Crown Princess Leonor of Spain to visit to Churches of Arroes, Pion and Candanal. The Spanish royals visited these locations in celebration of the areas winning the honour of the titles of the 2023 Best Asturian Villages.
For this engagement, the royals dressed casually and in layers that kept them warm on the sunny autumnal day in Villaviciosa, Spain. Queen Letizia looked especially wonderful as she wore one of the best trench coats for women on the market right now.
For this engagement, the Queen wore the 'Conry' trench coat in navy from Boss. The trench coat was a new look on Her Majesty and typically retails at £389 - making it far more affordable than the Burberry trench coat counterparts on the market.
Although Letizia's coat was far more affordable than other designer labels, there are still a number of similar navy trench coats that are available at high street brands which are far less expensive. That being said, the Spanish Queen's piece was a timeless classic and most certainly a solid investment that will be wearable for many years.
Under £100
RRP: £89.99 | Smart, effortless and easy-to-wear, this trench coat from Mango gives plenty of coverage with its longer-length hem. Featuring a neat collared neckline, it is made using pure cotton for a soft yet breathable feel.
Queen Letizia's trench
RRP: £389.00 | An authentically styled trench coat cut to a straight fit with a buckled belt and signature lining by BOSS Womenswear.
Chic alternative
RRP: £199 | The classic details - double-breasted buttons, epaulettes and storm flaps - are contrasted by the subtly feminine fit and flare silhouette, for a coat which is made for the modern woman.
The look was completed with a tie-dye raglan jumper, a pair of chunky lace-up leather boots from Boss and a few delicate pieces of gold jewellery. This created a harmonious look that had young elements and classic mature pieces that created a look that was just perfect on the Queen.
Queen Letizia isn't the only royal who is a fan of a trench coat, many members of European Royal Families have been snapped in trench coats over the years. Kate Middleton's fresh white trench coat is a classic look that never truly goes out of style. Similarly, Queen Camilla proved trench coats go with everything as she has paired her classic Burberry piece with several looks over the years.
