The cost of Meghan Markle's wedding day jewelry will blow your mind
Meghan Markle's wedding day jewelry was worth a staggering amount
Today marks four years since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, with Meghan Markle leaving the world in awe with her bridal gown and accessories.
- The cost of Meghan Markle's wedding day jewelry is pretty mind-blowing.
- As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex became husband and wife in front of the royals and A-lister guests on May 19th 2018, Meghan wore some very pricey pieces.
- This royal news comes after the real reason Meghan sometimes wears THREE rings on her wedding finger was revealed.
While it was Meghan's wedding dress, designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy and costing £120,000, that had most fashion fanatics around the globe talking when she arrived at the steps of the chapel, there were so many other details that made the bridal look so incredible.
In fact, the entirety of Meghan's elegant wedding day ensemble was worth a whopping £2,493,325, with her jewels racking up the majority of the cost.
Meghan's bandeau tiara, worn by Queen Mary and loaned to her by Her Majesty the Queen, is worth an eye-watering £2,000,000.
"Meghan's tiara was no doubt the most valuable item she wore on her wedding day. It belonged to Queen Mary, who was married to King George V and is Queen Elizabeth’s grandmother," Maxwell Stone, jewelry expert for Steven Stone, explains.
"The centre stone featured in the tiara is actually a brooch, comprised of 10 diamonds and which Mary of Teck received as a wedding gift from the County of Lincoln in 1893. In 1932, the diamond and platinum bandeau tiara was specifically made to accommodate the brooch."
For Meghan's 'something blue', she opted for Princess Diana's stunning aquamarine ring worth an estimated £85,000 for her and Harry's evening reception, during which she put on her £3,500 Stella McCartney evening dress.

"Aquamarine is one of the most visually beautiful gemstones. With an enchanting pale blue colour, the ring was a perfect addition to Meghan’s wedding day outfit," Maxwell adds.
“Now having been passed down to Meghan Markle from Harry, it’s interesting to know that aquamarine’s are often associated with tranquility, serenity, clarity, and harmony. As the first of the spring birthstones, the sea blue crystal represents transformation and rebirth. It embodies youthful vitality, purity, loyalty, hope, and truth."
Meghan Markle's wedding day jewelry, of course, also included her engagement ring from Prince Harry, worth £120,000, her £10,000 wedding band, her £150,000 Cartier bracelet, and £3,500 Cartier stud earrings.
