The lovely trend Sophie Wessex has picked up from Meghan Markle and Duchess Catherine

Sophie Wessex was spotted wearing a lovely family memento during a recent engagement - a trend Meghan Markle seems to have sparked among the royals back in the summer.

  • The royal was out meeting young professionals at a Duke of Edinburgh’s Women’s Network Forum when she wore a lovely necklace with the initials of her children.
  • She follows in the footsteps of Duchesses Catherine and Meghan, who have also been spotted wearing similar personalised jewlerry pieces.
  • This follows royal news that Sophie Wessex could be the perfect choice to step up following Harry and Meghan’s departure from the royal family.

The mum-of-two is often seen out and about representing the royal family, and always looks classy and sophiscated while perfoming her royal duties.

She recently met with young professionals at the the London Stock Exchange, and the pictures of the event were shared on the Royal Family’s official Twitter page.

Alongside them, the tweets read, ‘Yesterday, The Countess of Wessex visited the next generation of young professionals and their mentors at a @dofe Women’s Network Forum event at the London Stock Exchange.

'The Countess is Chair of the @dofe Women’s Network Forum, which she founded in 2014. The forum brings together a cross-industry group of senior representatives from a variety of organisations and businesses to champion and promote gender balance and equality in the workplace.

‘Girls from secondary schools across London shared their career aspirations with The Countess and their mentors, and discussed the steps they are taking to achieve their goals.’

Sophie kept her look simple with a black roll neck and skirt, which she matched with gold jewellery.

But when it came to her necklace, it seems Sophie took a leaf out of Duchesses Catherine and Meghan book, as she was spotted wearing the initials of her husband and children –'E' for Prince Edward, 'L' for her daughter Lady Louise Windsor, and a 'J' for her son, James, Viscount Severn.

Kate Middleton

Just last week, Catherine was also spotted wearing the initials of her three children at a royal event, and Meghan famously wore a necklace with an A to Wimbledon, shortly after baby Archie was born.

About our deals

In fact, Duchess Meghan was actually responsible for a spike in searches for the accessory back after she was spotted with the personalised necklace.

"Meghan is modern, fashionable and always on-trend, and personalised jewellery is the biggest trend right now," said Australian jeweller Emma Swann at the time, who sold the bespoke piece to the proud mum.

"It’s all about sentiment and love, which people adore, and to see her wearing the necklace is amazing.

"I’ve had an avalanche of orders since this went online, with people wanting initials for various reasons, many with hearts, for their children or partners – and some christenings, which is lovely."
