Buckingham Palace hosted thousands of guests on Wednesday, May 25, as members of the public were invited to the royal grounds to enjoy tea and cake and mingle with the members of the extended Royal Family.
Among the royals were the expected working royals such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. However, there was one particular member of the Royal Family that surprised fans with their presence.
Princess Beatrice, one of the Queen's grandchildren, also helped to host this event and greeted the 8,000 guests who were invited 'as a way to recognise for the positive impact they make in their communities.'

Fans took to social media to share their surprise at the Princess' attendance, and many commented that she was a welcome asset to the royal team.
"I like that Beatrice has been added to the team," said one commenter. To which another replied, " hopefully we see more of her."
"I'm HERE for Princess Beatrice and more engagements! Its about time!" said another fan. "So lovely to include Princess Beatrice 😍" said yet another.

Despite the excitement about her appearance, some were still confused as to why she was there."Is Princess Beatrice doing royal duties now?" asked one royal fan.
As a non-working member of the Royal Family, Princess Beatrice is under no obligation to attend these types of events. However, the Queen's Garden Party is a slightly different type of event that is regularly attended by non-working royals.
Princess Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie have often been in attendance at the Queen's Garden parties, much in the same way that they attend Royal Ascot, the Trooping of the Color, or other large-scale Royal events.
As the Queen's Platinum Jubilee nears, it is likely that royal fans will be seeing more of the non-working members of the Royal Family as they team up to celebrate Her Majesty's 70-year-reign.
