The Queen is reportedly excited about hosting her extended family at her Norfolk home for Christmas this year, despite reports that the Queen's health has been suffering recently.

Her Majesty, the Queen, has recently stepped back from some of her royal duties as she is suffering from a sprained back. The Queen missed the COP26 summit and Remembrance Sunday in order to focus on getting herself better, and many fans are still concerned about her health, particularly as she was admitted for an overnight stay in hospital only mere months ago.

Despite this, a source has revealed to The Sun that the Queen is “looking forward” to spending time with her family this Christmas and has reassured the royals that she is "far better" and up to the task of hosting them all at her property in Norfolk, Sandringham House.

It is thought that the Queen is keen to stay at this property because of the time she spent there in her younger years with Prince Philip.

This Christmas will mark a sad milestone for the Queen as she prepares to spend her first festive season without her husband the Duke of Edinburgh who died at the age of 99 in April 2021.

It is thought that the Queen will be celebrating the holiday with her extended family in Norfolk, which will include the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but unfortunately not the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince William and Kate Middleton may break a royal Christmas tradition as they have three celebrations this year. The Cambridges' reportedly have plans to spend time alone with their children, and with the Middletons, and with Her Majesty the Queen this festive season as they try to cram in as much family time as possible.

Sadly, it is thought that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be returning for Christmas to see the Queen. Reportedly, the couple is fearful of the media frenzy that will follow them when they return to the UK for the first time since stepping back as senior members of the royal family and have therefore opted to stay in the US.
