Princess Beatrice's title—why she has one more title than Princess Eugenie
Princess Beatrice's title has more to it than Princess Eugenie's—here's why and what it means for the royal line of succession
Princess Beatrice's title is almost identical to her sister's, but with an extra title Princess Eugenie hasn't got. You may think that's because of their age difference and ranking in the Royal Family, however the reason for the extra honor is actually more interesting than that.
- Princess Beatrice's title includes an honor from Italian aristocracy.
- This means that she and her children get extra titles that none of the Royal Family have.
- In either Royal news, Prince Harry could be interviewed by police after raising concern over Prince Charles’ Saudi billionaire friend
Princess Beatrice's title, the extra one that is, is via her marriage to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. As Edoardo, or Edo as he's also known, is a Count, which makes his wife a Countess or Contessa as it's said in Italian.
Before Buckingham Palace confirmed Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at a secret wedding in Windsor Castle, her future father-in-law explained the title.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi said, "Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation. He is a count – his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna."
This extra title from another royal house has no impact on the Princess' place in the Royal line of succession. What has changed the line of succession is, of course, the arrival of her and Edo's baby daughter Sienna.
As well as gaining a title via her nuptials, the lucky famiglia will also inherit a super swish pad too. After his father's passing, Edo will inherit the family's ancestral seat, the 18th Century neoclassical-style Villa Mapelli Mozzi, in northern Italy.

Although the nine-bedroom palazzo, which is an hour from Milan, is used by the family during summer months, you can also rent it if you feel like seriously splurging on a swish vacation.

Nestled in a stunning location, surrounded by four acres of parkland, the Daily Mail reports that staying there in May will set you back a gutwrenching $20,000 (£14,700) a week.
Despite it also being a premier location for the most luxurious weddings and events, Royal fans were delighted when she chose Windsor Castle instead.
