Princess Anne stepped out in New York City on Wednesday with her trusty Longchamps travel bag, adding yet another notch to the royal icon's 'thrifty' reputation.

Princess Anne has nailed effortless travel fashion once again, arriving at JFK Airport yesterday with the perfect accessory for flying – a Longchamp bag.

The 72-year-old made a solo visit to New York City on Tuesday, marking her first overseas royal trip in the aftermath of the death of Queen Elizabeth II

The whirlwind tour saw the Princess Royal carry out a number of public engagements, starting with a presentation of honors at the Residence of His Majesty’s Consul-General for New York. She also attended a gala dinner at the Racquet and Tennis Club on Park Avenue, after taking the Staten Island ferry to visit the National Lighthouse Museum.

Princess Anne was spotted at JFK Airport on Wednesday to catch a return commercial flight back to England, having spent less than 48 hours on US soil.

Dressed in black slacks, a black coat, and a turtle neck adorned by a gold, white and black silk scarf, the Queen's only daughter looked cozy yet sophisticated as she headed through the terminal to begin her long journey home.

As per usual, Princess Anne balanced comfort with style by ditching the heels for a pair of sensible grey brogues. Royal fans were also quick to notice that the royal was carrying her own bags, despite being surrounded by her staff.

The sighting sparked a flurry of discussion about the princess's army green tote, with many royal fans desperate to know more about its origins – and more importantly, how they could own it themselves.

The practical handbag appears to be from Longchamp, a French brand that has also been worn in the past by the Princess of Wales. Known for their timeless design and versatile sizing, variations of their leather purses have held a special place in Kate Middleton's wardrobe for nearly two decades now. The royal icon was even spotted clutching one at her graduation from the University of St. Andrew's, where she also met Prince William, back in 2005.
