Princess Anne wows in smart navy blazer inspired by Kate Middleton's recent nautical look

Princess Anne's navy blazer was the perfect nautical look during a recent royal engagement as the Princess Royal carried out the Fleet Review and Motor Past Review.

• In celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the Princess Royal took a trip to Southampton.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations have continued this week as the Queen's only daughter, Princess Anne, took to Southampton for a royal engagement.

A post from the royal family revealed, "The Princess Royal was on the Solent this weekend at a Platinum Jubilee celebration, following this year’s Cowes Week on the Isle of Wight. Over 400 boats from the local sailing and yachting community came together on the water for a spectacular showcase." 

The post then revealed the Princess's very important role in Southampton, "Her Royal Highness carried out the Fleet Review and Motor Past Review as the Solent filled with a gathering of Dunkirk Little Ships, Sail Training Ships and historic yachts."

Fan loved this look from the Princess Royal which very much resembled the nautical navy outfit worn by the Duchess of Cambridge just a few weeks ago. Kate Middleton was snapped sailing to victory in the Commonwealth Friendly Race in Plymouth ahead of the Commonwealth Games and wore a nautical-style navy and white look for this event. 

It seems that the Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Royal have shared style tips and both of these senior members of the royal family are fans of this classic blazer style. In particular, this type of nautical, double-breasted navy blazer with gold buttons.

The Princess Royal was seen wearing this blazer earlier in 2022 when she traveled to Sydney, Australia. Kate was also snapped in a matching blazer in 2014 when she traveled to a vineyard in Queenstown New Zealand.
