Prince William's parenting to be challenged while Kate's away as he reveals his close relationship with his children

Prince William's parenting abilities have often been complimented by royal fans who love the Duke's hands-on style. But the Prince himself has revealed some of the unique challenges he's faced when solo parenting.

Kate Middleton is currently in Denmark and has left Prince William to solo parent their three children at Kensington Palace. Although the royal couple is assisted with nannies and various other royal staff, the hands-on parents have spoken about their close relationships with their children and it is likely Prince William will be navigating solo parenting while Kate is away.

The Prince revealed in an unearthed interview that he has close relationships with his children, but has a particularly special bond with his only daughter.

The Mirror reported Prince William revealed, "The alteration from being a single, independent man to going into marriage and then having children is life-changing. George is a right little rascal sometimes, he keeps me on my toes, but he's a sweet boy."

He then opened up about his daughter Princess Charlotte. "And Charlotte, bearing in mind I haven't had a sister, so having a daughter is a very different dynamic. I adore my children very much and I've learnt a lot about myself and about family just from having my own children."

The Prince added in another more recent interview that he faced some specific challenges when it came to parenting his only daughter.

According to People, while on a royal trip to Blackpool to meet a parenting group named Dads 4 Life in 2019, the Prince revealed that he struggles with some of the more daunting parenting tasks.

Never try to do a ponytail!" William said. "Nightmare."

William added that he could actually do a ponytail but joked that he had very little practice. “I can do [Princess Charlotte’s] ponytail, but that’s about it as I don’t have enough hair to practice on!” said the Prince.

The Duke and his daughter are often compared and many suggest that they even look alike. In an unearthed photo, Prince William and Prince Harry were the spitting image of Archie and Princess Charlotte and fans were sure that they were seeing double.

Just a couple of days ago Kate Middleton arrived in Denmark wearing a recycled red Zara jacket and gorgeous sleek hair. 

While on this solo tour, the Duchess visited a kindergarten and Kate admitted that Prince William 'worries' when she feels 'broody' for another baby. This could be a hint that the royal couple may want to expand their family, but as their workload increases as the Queen's Platinum Jubilee nears, this may be a struggle for the couple.
