A royal source has claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton's children are suffering from the aftermath of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from royal life.

It has been revealed that when Meghan and Harry stepped back as senior members of the royal family and moved to their $14 million Santa Barbara mansion, Prince William and his wife were forced to take on more work to cover the space that was left by the couple.

Former BBC royal correspondent, Jennie Bond, told the Daily Star, “It’s been quite tough on William and Kate, with their young family, to step up and take on so many more responsibilities."

“They obviously set up Shout with the idea that the four of them would share out the workload and now it’s just the two of them."

The royal expert explained that although it is Kate and William who are having to take on more work, it will be their children who are having to get used to their parents being busier.

"William has an awful lot else to do, so Kate is shouldering more of the workload. It must be difficult with the children, but they are getting used to the reality,” said Jennie.

Recently, Kate Middleton replaced Prince Harry as England Rugby patron. This royal patronage is one of the many that is set to be dispersed among the royals since Prince Harry was stripped of his since stepping down from royal life.

Prince William is also very busy, as a royal announcement revealed that the Duke is due to fly to Dubai in a week for a royal engagement about conservation.

'The bond between the UK and the UAE is deep and strong and Prince William's visit will highlight and build upon these links as he has the opportunity to engage with young Emiratis, leaders from government, and committed conservationists,' Kensington Palace said in a statement.

There are also rumors that along with their other royal duties, William and Kate are poised to take a large overseas tour to the Caribbean later this year. This big trip is reportedly part of the celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee which is due to take place later this summer and will be marked with a four-day bank holiday.
