Prince William and Kate Middleton will join Tom Cruise for the premiere of his new movie, Top Gun: Maverick, on Thursday, just a few days after the actor gushed about the Queen's 'dignity' and 'devotion'.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will enjoy the ultimate date night later this week – an A-list film premiere.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend the UK debut screening of Top Gun: Maverick in London on Thursday, just a few days after the Royal Windsor Horse Show wrapped up in honor of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

As to be expected, the regal couple can expect five-star treatment at the Leicester Square event – starting with a warm welcome from the Lord Lieutenant and the CEO of the Film and TV Charity, Alex Pumfrey. After posing for photographers on the red carpet, they will be escorted to first-class seats for an exclusive viewing of the highly anticipated sequel.

The outing marks the Cambridge duo's first movie premiere since the release of No Time To Die last September – an appearance that sparked widespread frenzy over Kate's sparkly gold Bond dress.

Kate and William will also meet multiple stars of Top Gun 2, including its world-famous protagonist, Tom Cruise. The Hollywood actor arrived in Britain last week to star in the finale 'A Gallop Through History' alongside Dame Helen Mirren and Katherine Jenkins at Windsor Castle on Sunday, much to the excitement of his UK fans.

The equestrian gala, which kicked off on Thursday, May 12, saw 1,300 performers and 500 horses pay tribute to the Queen on the 70th anniversary of her reign.

Asked about Her Majesty before the spectacle's closing night, Tom said, "She's just a woman that I greatly admire. I think she's someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion. What she's accomplished has been historic."

He also revealed that he had immediately accepted the invitation to contribute to the event, telling the Palace, "It would be my honor."

Tom appeared again in the last half hour of the event to introduce the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, which he described as "one of the most enthralling, thrilling, heart-in-mouth displays' he had ever seen.

Despite being a US citizen, the 59-year-old has reportedly always been fond of the British monarchy. It's even been alleged that he tried to organize a private audience with the Queen in the past and that he got up early to watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding live. While his one-on-one with Her Majesty has yet to happen, he did manage to meet Prince Philip at a charity dinner at Buckingham Palace in 2017, four years before the Duke of Edinburgh's passing.

When does Top Gun: Maverick come out?

Top Gun: Maverick will hit US movie theatres on May 24, three days before it arrives in the UK on May 27.
