Jonathan Pryce was spotted on the set of The Crown Season 5—and he’s getting to grips with one of Prince Philips’ favorite hobbies.
- New images of Jonathan Pryce who is playing the Duke of Edinburgh in The Crown have been released.
- The images show that Prince Philip's favorite hobby will be showcased in the new series of The Crown.
- In other royal news, Prince Harry was 'saddened and disappointed' after being denied the chance to lay wreath at the Cenotaph.
Jonathan Pryce has been spotted on the set of The Crown in costume as Prince Philip. The actor was pictured trying out one of the Queen's late husband's favorite hobbies, as he sat on a horse-drawn carriage.
Although many fans have questioned, 'how accurate is The Crown?' It is a well-known fact that the Duke of Edinburgh loved riding in a horse-drawn carriage and shared his love of this hobby with various members of the royal family.
It was even reported that Sarah Ferguson won over Prince Philip and the royal family because of her natural talent when it came to riding a horse and cart.
Tom Quinn, a royal biographer, said about Sarah Ferguson, "She was someone who really threw herself into the pursuit of the Royal Family values. For example, she learned to drive four in hand, carriage driving, the thing Prince Philip at the time absolutely loved.”
A 'four in hand' is any vehicle, most likely a carriage, that is drawn by four horses and driven by one person, and it is this hobby that will be featured on The Crown.
Jonathan Pryce was photographed sitting in full Prince Philip costume and dark sunglasses, atop a carriage on the set of the fifth season of The Crown.

Jonathan Pryce will be playing opposite Imelda Staunton who is playing the Queen as she takes over from Olivia Colman for series 5 of The Crown.
Olivia held the role for seasons 3 and 4 of The Crown and Claire Foy held the role for two seasons before her.
Fans have also reacted to the first look at the new Princess Diana and Prince Charles who will be played by Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki.
Following Prince Philip's death at the age of 99, the Duke of Cambridge shared a sweet memory of his grandfather's interest in horse and carriages.
Prince William said on Instagram, "I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humour!"
The prince shared an image of his eldest son Prince George next to the Duke of Edinburgh as they sat side by side on a horse-pulled carriage.
