Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could make a special trip to the UK to introduce Lilibet to the Queen.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could be set to make a special trip to the UK to introduce their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to her namesake the Queen.

Although Nottingham Cottage is still their official UK residence, a royal insider has revealed the couple will be "welcomed" with open arms by the Queen at Windsor Castle, despite growing tension in recent months.

Writing in his Woman column, royal expert Duncan Larcombe said, "The Queen will be very keen to meet her new great-granddaughter as soon as possible."

"Despite everything that has been said and done, her Majesty loves Harry and considers him an important part of the Royal Family. If he and Meghan are planning to come to England over the coming months they will find themselves at Windsor Castle.”

It's been a tumultuous time for Prince Harry and his family with rumors of growing tension after the Duke launched a scathing attack on the institution in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

During the explosive 120-minute interview he laid bare claims Meghan had been left unsupported by the Firm when admitting she felt suicidal and talked about allegations of racism within the royal family.

Yet, despite taking Prince Harry's comments personally, Her Majesty still counts him as an important part of the family and is willing to work through the difficulties.

"The royals are a family at heart, and hearing Harry expressing his pain and anger will at the very least have given them a great deal of food for thought," Duncan explains.

The timing could work out perfectly as we know the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on parental leave—so it's the perfect excuse to visit family, if travel restrictions permit.

Soon after Meghan and Harry announced the birth of their daughter, Lilibet, they confirmed via their Archewell foundation that they'd be taking some time out to enjoy their family.

Alongside a joint statement that described their daughter as "more than we could have ever imagined," the couple confirmed they'd be taking "parental leave".

Harry is taking a break from his executive position at a Silicone Valley start-up and the couple are stepping back from all public engagements for the next few months, leaving their charity, Archewell, in the safe hands of the rest of the team.

Prince Harry has made it clear he wants to "break the cycle" of his upbringing and spend quality time with his two children, it's something he sees as a non-negotiable.
