Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could push the royals to ‘breaking point’ with second tell-all interview
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview led the Queen to release a special statement in response
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle astonished the world with their Oprah Winfrey interview earlier this year, but according to a royal biographer another tell-all special could be on the way.
- The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could sit down for a second astonishing interview, possibly even with Oprah Winfrey once again.
- A royal biographer has claimed that any new interview could push the Royal Family to “breaking point” after all that has come before.
- This royal news comes as the Queen's grandson sparks romance rumors with mysterious plus-one at double christening.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview in March left royal fans shocked with their revelations about life in the royal spotlight. The Duke and Duchess sat down with the talk show host just months after they “stepped back” as senior royals. During the 90 minute special, the couple addressed everything from Meghan’s mental health to Prince Harry’s claim that Prince William and Prince Charles are “trapped” in the institution - something an expert has since said is not his “place to say”.
Now royal biographer Duncan Larcombe has expressed his belief that a second Prince Harry and Meghan interview could happen in the future - potentially even with Oprah again. Though he suggested it likely won’t go down well with the rest of the Royal Family, especially in light of what’s come before.
Speaking to Closer, the author and royal expert explained, “I really wouldn’t be surprised if they’re planning another Oprah interview. Harry and Meghan have caused chaos and I suspect there’s no stopping them.”
Duncan went on to claim that further high-profile interviews could follow in the future, reflecting that they could use them as promotion for Prince Harry’s “accurate and wholly truthful” royal memoir which is set for a 2022 release.
He continued, “I can totally see more of these high-profile, Hollywood-style interviews with A-list TV hosts happening. Especially if there’s lots of money being offered for it. Harry will need promotion for his memoir, due to be released next autumn, too. Another Oprah interview, if it’s anything like the last, would surely push the royals to breaking point.”
Following their original Oprah Winfrey interview airing in March, the Queen issued a “careful and constructive” response. The statement released by Buckingham Palace declared, “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”
Since then, reports have suggested that the Sussexes felt the Queen failed to take “accountability” in the statement, whilst rumors of a rift between them and Prince William and Prince Charles in particular have persisted.
Meanwhile, whilst this remains their first high-profile joint interview, the Duchess has recently made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Fans were not only wowed by Meghan Markle’s red dress, but delighted to be given a glimpse of a new photo of Archie feeding chickens. During the appearance, Meghan did everything from take part in a prank to opening about her and Prince Harry's two young children.
Now living life as private citizens, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could well give further equally enlightening interviews in the future. However, given the speculation and reports about rifts that have persisted ever since their Oprah chat, who knows how it will affect their relationship with the Queen and Royal Family if the Sussexes do go on to make any similarly astonishing revelations.
