Prince Harry and Meghan Markle axed from royal balcony wave to show 'slimmed down monarchy,' says expert
A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been axed from Prince Charles' coronation celebration
A royal expert has claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been axed from Prince Charles' coronation celebrations as the royals try to demonstrate a 'slimmed-down monarchy.'
- Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have reportedly been uninvited from a pivotal aspect of Prince Charles' coronation.
- A royal expert has claimed that this move is in order to show a slimmed-down monarchy.
- In other royal news, the Queen 'has met Lilibet' despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's concerns.
As the eldest of Queen Elizabeth's children, Prince Charles is the next in the royal line of succession. Although the Queen is still fit and healthy, Prince Charles' future coronation has become a topic of conversation with royal fans as recently the Queen gave her blessing for Camilla to have this royal title.
A royal source told the Daily Mail, "'It will be a slimmed-down Monarchy on display throughout."
"I wouldn't be surprised to see just Charles and Camilla, Kate and William and their children on the Buckingham Palace balcony afterwards'."
As a tradition, the royal family usually gathers at the balcony of Buckingham Palace to greet royal fans. At the Queen's coronation in 1952, many members of the royal family waved from the balcony of the palace to the public and showed a united front.
The source also revealed that unlike the Queen's coronation almost 70 years ago, Prince Charles would prefer a smaller celebration.
The source revealed that the ceremony would be, "shorter, sooner, smaller, less expensive and more representative of different community groups and faiths."

The source also revealed that, unlike the Queen who was crowned at the age of 25, the future King would prefer a smaller celebration because he is in his 70s. The source said the coronation would be "far shorter because you have to consider Charles's age"
Prince Charles' wife Camilla Parker Bowles will be the Queen consort once Prince Charles is crowned King. At this coronation, Duchess Camilla has been granted permission to wear the Queen Mother's special Crown, which is decorated with one of the largest diamonds in the world, the Koh-i-Noor diamond.
Before these future coronation celebrations take place, the royals are planning to celebrate another coronation anniversary. The Queen's platinum jubilee is set to take place this Summer and will be celebrated with a four-day bank holiday across the UK to commemorate the Queen's 70 years on the throne.
