Prince Charles visited Scotland for his latest royal outing and it didn’t take fans long to spot the “strong resemblance” between the future king and another royal icon.

As the eldest of the Queen’s children and first in the royal line of succession, it’s perhaps no surprise that Prince Charles has been observed taking an even more prominent role in recent months. Though Her Majesty has resumed virtual engagements at Windsor Castle, she’s not yet returned to attending them in-person. Instead, Prince Charles and other senior royals have been carrying out many important visits and his latest visit is no exception.

As soon as the forecast for Storm Arwen’s arrival landed in November 2021 many people were likely left dreading the predictions for devastating winds and snow in the UK. The devastating storm is understood to have caused several deaths and left thousands of homes without power and water.

Traveling to the National Trust for Scotland’s Haddo House, Prince Charles saw just what havoc the storm wreaked. During the 12-hour period of Storm Arwen, the stunning historic estate is estimated to have lost over 100,000 trees.

In response to the crisis, a local resilience partnership was established, with a helpline being set-up and centres opened to provide much-needed power, food and warmth at this terrifying time. Following the visit, the Clarence House social media accounts shared several heartfelt snaps - and they’ve given surprised fans a case of serious royal déjà vu.

“Looks so much like his father in these pictures, never noticed the strong resemblance before”, one person observed excitedly.

Another agreed, writing simply, “Looking so like your father!”.

“Wow, he’s looking a lot like Prince Philip in these pics”, someone else commented, seemingly also slightly surprised by the likeness between them.

Whilst several others picked out the final picture in particular as showcasing the uncanny resemblance between father and son.

“In picture 5 Prince Charles looks just like his Dad”, one fan declared as a second person replied, “You look so much like your father in that last picture ❤️”.

The last picture shows Prince Charles beaming, wearing what appears to be an olive-green waxed jacket and his delighted expression is incredibly reminiscent of photographs taken of Prince Philip laughing over the years.

And it’s not just in appearance that the father and son have startling similarities! The Duke of Edinburgh also loved spending time in the countryside, particularly at Sandringham where he lived after retiring in 2017, and advocated for conservation.

In her speech during the COP26 summit in 2021, the Queen revealed she “could not be more proud” of how Prince Charles and Prince William are continuing the Duke’s invaluable efforts to protect the environment. Though the Duke of Edinburgh sadly passed away last year, his love of nature and likeness is certainly carried on by his devoted family.
