Prince Charles has captured fans’ imaginations during Welsh Tour
Prince Charles has received praise from royal fans as the future king was observed trying his hand at an age-old skill during his annual week-long Tour of Wales.
- Prince Charles marked the 100th anniversary of the Church in Wales as he visited places of worship across Pembrokeshire during his royal tour.
- Fans were excited to see the Prince of Wales “work so hard” during his recent engagements as things took a turn for the traditional.
- In other royal news, Princess Beatrice displays her growing baby bump in a radiant Wimbledon appearance.
Prince Charles has been delighting royal fans this week as he continues to carry out engagements during his and Duchess Camilla’s annual Tour of Wales. Since being invested as Prince of Wales in 1969, the future king has taken his position incredibly seriously and maintains a residence in the Llandovery, in addition to his London home, Clarence House, and Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. Already this week, Prince Charles has been spotted in an Iceland supermarket in Flintshire, leading one person to joke he was eyeing up a meal deal.
Now his latest appearance has earned him great praise, as he tried his hand at a traditional skill. Prince Charles celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the Church in Wales on July 8 and visited places of worship across Pembrokeshire. After attending a service at St Davids Cathedral, he traveled to Nevern to meet the congregation at St Brynach’s Church.
It was here that the Prince of Wales got to put his skills to the test as he tried out bell ringing.

This age-old activity has long been associated with churches across Britain and Croyland Abbey, in Lincolnshire, is understood to have had the earliest "ring" of English church bells (tuned to a musical scale) over 1000 years ago. The full peal of bells was sounded at St Brynach's for the first time in 120 years for the visit and Prince Charles seemed to enjoy having a go himself.
His bell ringing efforts were captured in a video clip shared on Instagram. The royal can be seen delightedly testing out the bell’s ropes whilst he learns more about their history. Following his bell ringing experience, Charles later resumed his tour of Welsh churches as he moved on to St Martin of Tours Church in Haverfordwest, which marked its 900th anniversary last year.
And it seems Prince Charles’ busy schedule and commitment to royal duties has not gone unnoticed. Fans were quick to praise the senior royal’s work ethic, with one writing: ‘Prince Charles works so hard, thank you Sir’.

‘Love how you genuinely engage with people, a fabulous future King.❤️’ another declared.
Someone else also reflected on Prince Charles’ approach ahead of him becoming king, commenting: ‘So interested in everywhere the Prince of Wales goes. So friendly and connects with the public. A wonderful future King’.
‘Prince Charles looks like he is loving his week in Wales’ another stated.
Whilst one Wales-based royal fan expressed their delight at actually being able to meet the royal in person at St Davids Cathedral.
‘It was an honor to meet prince Charles during the service. He is very humble and funny 😁😁😁’ they shared.
This visit comes months after the Queen's husband of 73-years, Prince Philip, passed away. The Prince of Wales has been observed taking even more of a central role in the Royal Family in recent times, supporting Her Majesty as he reflects on his late father's legacy.
