Prince Andrew 'in tears' over 'letting Queen down' at vital moment
Prince Andrew is believed to have been in tears when the Queen told him he would lose his royal titles

Prince Andrew is believed to have been in tears when the Queen confirmed to him that he was set to lose his royal titles and military honors, with an insider claiming he feels he has let his mother down during one of her most important years.
- The Queen announced last week that her son, Prince Andrew, has been stripped of his HRH title, military honors and patronages, following the news that his bid to have Virginia Giuffre's civil action against him scrapped was denied by a US judge.
- A royal source says that, despite expecting the title loss, Prince Andrew was tearful when the Queen broke the news.
- This royal news comes after it was reported that Prince Charles and Prince William are furious with Andrew and had a hand in the decision to remove his royal title.
Last week, Buckingham Palace released statement to confirm that the Queen had agreed to have the Duke of York's Royal honors returned to her, confirming that Andrew will no longer have the right to use a "His Royal Highness" title and that he'll continue to stay away from public duties.
The comment from Her Majesty came shortly after it was confirmed that Prince Andrew could face civil trial after his attempt to have Virginia Giuffre’s civil case against him scrapped was dismissed.
Virginia Giuffre claims that she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew, by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, when she was 17-years-old. However the Duke of York has consistently denied the allegations.

In a rare statement on the monarch's disgraced son, the announcement from the Palace said, "With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen.
"The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen."
Now, it's been claimed that Prince Andrew broke down during the conversation with his mother that confirmed that he would be stripped of his titles and honors amid feelings that he has been a let down to the Queen, ahead of her milestone Platinum Jubilee celebrations this summer.

"The Prince was tearful when told the news even though he had expected it. He feels that he has let so many people down, not least his mother, during her Platinum Jubilee year," a senior defence source is said to have told The Mirror.
The insider added that Andrew had hoped to be able to keep his titles but added that Her Majesty was forced to make a swift decision ahead of progression in the civil case.
