Mike Tindall’s I’m A Celebrity stint will officially kick off with the launch on November 6 and one of his fellow royals has reacted to the news...
Mike Tindall’s I’m A Celebrity stint has gained its first royal reaction - and they seem to be on board with his ITV reality show sign-up.
- The King’s nephew-in-law Mike Tindall will soon be taking on the trials and tribulations that come with being an I’m A Celebrity contestant when the 2022 series launches.
- Now Princess Beatrice’s husband has commented on one of Mike’s social media posts about his participation making him the first royal to share their opinion on it.
- This royal news comes as Kate Middleton took style tips from Meghan Markle in an immaculate color block outfit with retro roll-neck and Demellier handbag.
After weeks of speculation it was finally confirmed that Mike Tindall, the husband of Zara Tindall and the King’s nephew-in-law, is part of the I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here! 2022 line-up. The former England Rugby player will be the first royal to ever take part in the reality series, which after two years being filmed in Wales, is returning to Australia. Already Mike Tindall has admitted he might “regret” his time in the jungle, though he expressed his belief that it’ll be “good fun”.
In the days following the announcement it’s understood the Royal Family have been “tight-lipped” about Mike’s latest venture, with no official comment from King Charles or the palace. However, now one royal has reacted to Mike Tindall’s I’m A Celebrity stint - and it seems they’re more than ready to see the rugby star take on a few Bushtucker trials!

In a move reminiscent of fellow ITV reality show Love Island, during his time living at the I’m A Celebrity camp, Mike Tindall won’t have access to his phone. And having arrived in Australia ready ahead of the November 6 launch show, it’s possible he’s already handed over responsibility for it.
Either way, Mike’s Instagram account has now shared a picture of the retired rugby player and podcast host beaming and dressed in the classic I’m A Celeb-appropriate outfit, complete with wide-brimmed hat and a background of jungle leaves. The caption echoed the post with a series of emojis that range from a pair of eyes to a caterpillar and ant.
And it was via a similarly wildlife-themed emoji that Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shared his candid reaction to Mike’s news.
Edoardo posted a spider emoji, followed by another caterpillar and ended with a queasy-looking emoji in an apparent reference to the famously stomach-churning Bushtucker eating trials.

Edoardo’s comment marks the first public royal reaction to Mike Tindall’s I’m A Celebrity stint and both are married to one of the late Queen’s grandchildren, with their wives being first cousins. His decision to comment at all - as well as his choice to mirror Mike’s use of playful emojis - could suggest that Princess Beatrice’s husband is on board with his new project.
Meanwhile, though she hasn’t commented herself, Mike was recently asked by The Sun about how Zara feels about him taking part, to which he responded, "She is fine, otherwise I wouldn’t have done it would I?”
It’s not known which royals might tune in to watch Mike for however long he remains in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, but he will no doubt be excited to reunite with Zara after being unable to communicate with her whilst he’s on the show.
“It’s probably one of the longest times we’ve been away completely with no communication. When you go away you still have communication, so that’s obviously going to be the hardest bit,” he declared.
