The Duchess of Sussex says she's 'glad to be home' in new candid video

Meghan Markle has taken part in a conversation with Gloria Steinem as she continues her campaign to get people to vote.

Meghan Markle has admitted she's "glad to be home," after moving back to America following the Sussexes' decision to step down as senior royals.

The Duchess has taken part in a "backyard chat" with activist and campaigner, Gloria Steinem, as she continues her campaign to get people in America to vote.

And she made the admission during the candid chat. As she sat down with Meghan, Gloria said, "Meg, welcome home. I'm so glad that you're home."

To which the mum-of-one said, "Thank you. Me too, for some many reasons."

The black-and-white clip - shared by MAKERS Women - shows Meghan and Gloria sitting outdoors, with The Duchess of Sussex wearing pin-stripe trousers, a soft t-shirt and an oversized hat.

She looks incredibly at ease as she checks her phone in between conversations and playfully strokes her two dogs - Guy and Pula.

While the vibe of the interview is relaxed, the topic of conversation is deeply important as Meghan makes reference to the work Gloria and countless other women did during the Women Liberation movement of the 1960s and 1970s.

Meghan said, "People forget how hard women like you and so many others before you fought for us to just be where we are right now."

Gloria replied: “If you don’t vote, you don’t exist. It is the only place we’re all equal, the voting booth.

The pair went on to discuss the importance of young people taking their chance to vote, with Gloria saying, "What worries me the most are young people, who I understand are the least likely to vote and I can understand the feeling that they don’t think they have an impact.

“Yet, it’s more important for them to vote than anyone else because they’re going to be alive long after I am, and they’re going to be suffering the consequences.”

While it's not clear where Meghan and Gloria were located for the chat, it could be Meghan and Harry's new "family home" in Santa Barbara.
