The couple used their third wedding anniversary to announce their latest charity project
It's officially been three years since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in a fairytale wedding in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. To mark the occasion, the couple used their wedding anniversary as an opportunity to announce their latest charity project.

After leaving England and settling in the United States, Meghan and Prince Harry have increasingly been involved in charity projects they feel passionate about. The latest is plans to build a Community Relief Center in Mumbai, India, to provide aid during the country's overwhelming second wave of COVID-19.
Through the Archewell Foundation, they are continuing their partnership with the World Central Kitchen to produce this relief center which will strive "to provide relief and resilience (as well as healing and strength)."
"Right now, COVID-19 cases are spiking across the entire country of India. On Tuesday, India’s total virus cases exceeded 25 million, with 260,000 new cases and 4,329 deaths reported in the past 24 hours," read an official statement by the Archewell Foundation. "Hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost, millions have been infected, and there is widespread concern that the crisis is even worse than reported."
During times of crisis, the relief center aims to provide communities in need with emergency response kitchens or vaccination sites. In "calmer times," these centers are turned into spaces that serve as food distribution hubs, schools, clinics, or community gathering spaces for families, according to the foundation.
This isn't the first time that the couple has announced their charity work on a celebratory day for them. For their son Archie's second birthday, the couple revealed an incredible gift that would be used in care packs for refugees.
The giving didn't stop there as they also used the Archewell Foundation website to announce a fundraising appeal for Archie's birthday, which also raised around $3 million dollars for COVID-19 vaccines.

"Every dollar that you generously contributed was matched dollar-for-dollar by organizations like Seadream Family Foundation and Mastercard Impact Fund to bring the total of funding for this cause to over $3 million!" read a thank-you letter they shared.
"Congratulations and thank you for helping to make the world a more compassionate and equitable place. We are proud to have you as part of the Archewell community."
Looking at their past wedding anniversary celebrations, the couple has also earned the reputation of being creative gift-givers. To mark their first year as a married couple, they followed the traditional theme of paper gifts. Meghan wrote out their wedding speech and had it framed for Prince Harry, a source told PEOPLE.
This year, the theme is leather, and if their past gifts are any clue, they're sure to be just as creative and sentimental.
