Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have quit social media - including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook - according to a source.

·    The Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t posted on their Instagram account,
    Sussex Royal, for months.

·    A source close to the couple told a Sunday newspaper that they won’t be using
their social media accounts to promote any of their new work.

·    In other Royal News,  members of the royal family, including the Queen, have
sent well wishes to Kate Middleton on her birthday.

Meghan and Prince Harry's Instagram account quickly amassed over 10 million followers when they first launched it in April 2019 - but according to the Sunday Times, Meghan and Harry will no longer use the photo-sharing platform, along with  Twitter or Facebook.

The source, a close contact of the couple, claimed that their Instagram account won't be used to promote their Archewell foundation or any of their new projects - including a podcast and their £100m reported Netflix deal.

The Duke and Duchess have spoken of the abuse and trolling via their social media accounts - and haven't used them since they settled in the US last year.

The last post on the Sussex Royal Instagram account was last March, where the couple thanked their supporters and also hinted that they would be taking a break.

Posted on March 30th the message, which was written below the photo, referred to the pandemic: "As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute."

They carried on with: "While you may not see us here, the work continues. Thank you to this community - for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!"

Before their last post, the couple was very active on Instagram, posting pictures and Instagram stories of the causes they supported and the many events they attended.

Meghan, who married Prince Harry in May 2018, moved with her husband and son Archie to California last year - with both giving up their titles as senior royals and ending their royal duties.
