Kate Middleton and Prince William were introduced to one of their youngest fans during their Royal Tour of Scotland and people can’t help speculating about the couple’s reactions.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have been delighting royal fans across Scotland during their mini Royal Tour, but it’s their recent visit to Fife that has really caught people’s attention. The Duke of Cambridge started out by undertaking multiple solo engagements and activities throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, where one eagle-eyed fan spotted something unusual about the photographs of him sawing wood.

He was joined by his wife on Monday 24 May and prior to her arrival in Scotland, he reminisced about meeting Kate Middleton at St Andrews during his address to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. The couple later returned to the University of St Andrews where their love story first began, before going on to visit the fishing village of Pittenweem.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with fishermen from the Pittenweem Fishermen’s Mutual Association and their families and heard about the impact the challenging last year has had on fishing communities on the East Coast of Scotland. It was during their time here that Kate and Prince William got to meet one of their youngest fans.

In an adorable picture posted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Twitter account, the couple can be seen greeting a baby who had been brought to meet the royals in a stunning cream and blue stroller. This heart-warming snap shows Kate eagerly waving to the little one, her face lit up with a beautiful smile as she bends down to get a better look.

‘Catherine adores babies so much!!’ one royal fan wrote, whilst another excitedly speculated: ‘Aww lovely Kate’s getting broody xx’.

‘She loves babies! Look at that big smile’, someone else shared.

But whilst royal fans were full of admiration for Kate’s excited reaction, it’s Prince William who has really got people talking. Prince William’s face is turned away from the camera, looking across at his wife, but that hasn’t stopped royal fans from speculating about what could be going through the future king’s mind at that precise moment.

‘I can hear William "No Catherine, no more babies!"’ one cheekily commented as another put themselves in his shoes, writing: ‘William....."Oh No!!"’.

Another person replied: ‘William be like: oh god no! No baby fever again’.

‘Hey up William! Someone is broody!’, wrote someone else light-heartedly.

Kate's adorable reaction comes after it was suggested earlier this year that she once thought about having four children. According to Us Weekly, a source claimed that: “Having four children was always part of Kate’s plan”. Though they also alleged that Prince William is not quite so sure about this and instead thinks that: “three children is more than enough”.

The Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge have never publicly spoken about possibly wanting to grow their family. Whilst Kate reportedly revealed during a royal visit to Bradford in 2020 that she didn’t believe William “wants any more”.

The couple are already proud parents of Prince George (7), Princess Charlotte (6) and Prince Louis (3). The Cambridges split their time between their London residence at Kensington Palace and their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, where they spent much of the last year during lockdown.

Kate Middleton and Prince William will no doubt be looking forward to reuniting with their children upon their return from Scotland.
