Prince William, Kate Middleton and the Cambridge kids were spotted with their adorable new family member at the weekend.

The lovely footage, shared by Instagram user @hermesluv, shows Kate and William walking across the greenery outside of Kensington Palace to board a helicopter.

The iconic couple were, of course, accompanied by their brood of three for the family day out—as well as the family’s new puppy.

Beside the rare video, the Instagram post read, “Stroll through the park led to a lucky sighting of Prince William & Kate, 3 lil ones, & a 🐶!”

The clip shows Prince William holding youngest son Louis’ hand, while Kate can be seen holding their new black Cocker Spaniel pup, whose name has not yet been revealed, on a leash.

The pooch is believed to have been gifted to the Cambridge family by Kate’s brother James Middleton, after their family dog Lupo passed away at the end of last year.

Lupo was also a present from the Middleton family to Kate and William, when they were newlyweds, and the four-legged friend is believed to have supported Kate when she was alone at home, while Prince William was away working in the Falkland Islands.

Kate and William shared the sad news that they had lost Lupo in November 2020, posting a gorgeous image of him on their Instagram page, penning, “Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away. He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much. - W & C”

Meanwhile, Kate's brother James, who is known to be a huge dog lover, shared his own tribute to Lupo, pointing out the incredible amount of joy and support he would have brought to the Cambridges over the years.

“It is with great sadness that Lupo, the beloved dog of my sister Catherine and her family has passed away. Lupo was the son of Ella, brother to Zulu, Inka & Luna. He was 9 years old," James wrote.

“Nothing can ever prepare you for the loss of a dog. For those who have never had a dog, it might be hard to understand the loss. However for those who have loved a dog know the truth: a dog is not just a pet; it is a member of the family, a best friend, a loyal companion, a teacher and a therapist.”

Royal fans couldn’t help notice a heartbreaking detail in Kate and William’s anniversary video shared last month, spotting that Lupo was in the footage, which was shot before he passed away.

The candid video shows the Cambridge family enjoying a day out at the beach with Lupo, as well as outdoor time in the grounds of their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall

“Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary. We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family. W & C” Kate and William wrote beside the special upload.

The video is just one of several shared by the Cambridges recently, as the Duke and Duchess launched their very own YouTube channel.

The online space already features wonderful insights into the work the couple carry out every day and the hilarious trailer for the channel featured a cheeky, unseen outtake from behind the scenes.

The blooper shows Kate correcting Prince William as they prepared to share their St Patrick’s Day message earlier this year.

As William attempts to say “beannachtaí na féile Pádraig oraibh”, Kate chimes in to add, “You don’t need to roll the ‘R’!”

The start of the video shows Kate and William sitting together on a couch, while William jokes, “By the way, you’ve got to be careful now because these guys, they’re filming everything!”
