New photos of Kate Middleton meeting and training with the army have been released to honor Armed Forces Day in the UK. Along with the photos, the Duchess posted a moving, heartfelt tribute to those serving.

The Duchess of Cambridge has shared a personal message to those serving in the armed forces as she honors Armed Forces Day.

Previously known as Veterans’ Day, Armed Forces Day in the United Kingdom is an annual event celebrated each year in June to commemorate the service of men and women in the British Armed Forces.

Posting the photos to the official Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate is shown getting stuck in with the fixing of different military machinery, proving she’s not afraid of getting her hands dirty and pitching in.

The photos also show her participating in some of the training exercises and spending time speaking to personnel about their experiences in the British Army.

Along with the insightful images, Kate penned a message praising the selflessness of those who serve.

She wrote, “Today on Armed Forces Day, William and I would like to pay tribute to the brave men and women, past and present, serving in all of our armed forces, at sea, on land and in the air, here in the UK and around the world.”

“Thank you for all you and your families sacrifice to keep us safe.”

“Last year, I was honoured to spend time with the @BritishArmy to see how they train serving personnel and new recruits. It was wonderful to see first-hand the many important and varied roles the military play day in, day out to protect us all…”

Committing herself to future hands-on involvement, she ended her message by promising to discover “more about the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force in due course.”

Fans flocked to the comments to praise Catherine’s readiness to get stuck in.

One wrote, “What a wonderful message from our amazing #duchessofcambridge. And a lovely surprise with that! There's nothing she can't do!”

Another added, “Great work from our future Queen.”

Kate honoring the armed forces is a touching sign that the future heirs will follow in the footsteps of Her Majesty the Queen who makes it a priority to honor the sacrifices of those who’ve served.

During the coronavirus lockdown, Her Majesty made online video calls with members of the armed forces and she herself was the first female member of the Royal family to be an active duty member of the British Armed Forces during the Second World War.
