Catherine corrects Prince William after he makes hilarious blunder

Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William

On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spoke for the first time about the arrival of their new nephew, Prince Harry and Meghan's baby son.

Chatting to the media at an engagement outside the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, London, the royal couple were asked their thoughts on the happy news of the new baby Sussex.

But when Prince William began discussing how pleased he was to welcome another member of the family, he made a pretty hilarious blunder, forcing his wife Catherine to jokingly correct him.

When asked if they were excited, the Duke of Cambridge replied, "Yes, absolutely. I'm an uncle again, second time for me," before pointing at Catherine and saying, "And you as well."

However, the Duchess quickly intercepted, replying, "I'm definitely not an uncle", before the pair burst out laughing at William's mistake.

The Duke of Cambridge also joked that he was excited to welcome his younger brother to the world of sleep deprivation, saying, "I'm very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting."

Before continuing, telling the media, "I wish him all the best and I hope in the next few days they can settle down and enjoy having a newborn in their family and the joys that come with that."

The Duchess of Cambridge also shared her thoughts on the new addition to the family, revealing that she and William can't wait to meet him in a few days.

She told the press, "We're looking forward to meeting him and finding out what his name's going to be... these next few weeks are always a bit daunting the first time round so we wish them all the best.

"It's such a special time, obviously with Louis and Charlotte just having had their birthdays it's such a great time of year to have a baby, spring is in the air."

Prince Charles and Camilla, who are currently on a four-day tour of Germany, have also spoken about their new grandchild, with the Prince of Wales admitting he's "collecting a rather large number of them" now.

Speaking to well-wishers on their tour, Charles also revealed that they were "delighted" with the news.

He said, “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return.”
