The Duchess of Cambridge has taken to Instagram to celebrate her mother Carole Middleton. She posted an adorable throwback photo on Mothering Sunday.

On Sunday 13 March, Mothering Sunday was celebrated in the UK. Prince William and Kate Middleton took to Instagram to celebrate their mothers on Mother’s Day. In one post their children revealed, ‘Papa is missing you’ as the children paid a heartbreaking Mother’s Day tribute to their late grandmother, Princess Diana.
In a second post from the Kensington Royal Instagram account, Kate posted a throwback image of her mother Carole with Kate as a child. In the image, Kate is a toddler and is clasping onto her mother’s hand. Carole appears to be pregnant with Kate’s younger sister Pippa in the image.
The royals captioned the image, “Celebrating two other special mothers today. Cake made by George, Charlotte and Louis.” The children made a victoria sponge cake topped with buttercream and other edible decorations. The children also a constructed hearts out of pipe cleaners that stuck out of the cake in an adorable fashion.
Fans loved this post from the royals and many adored the throwback pic of Kate. One said, “What a sweet photo of Kate and her mother! And that cake the children made is equally dazzling.” Another fan commented, “George, Charlotte, and Louis you’d get a handshake from Mary Berry! Happy Mother’s Day.”
Carole Middleton is the mother to Kate, Pippa and James, and the grandmother to George, 7, Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2. She is also the grandmother to Pippa Middleton’s two-year-old son Arthur. Pippa is currently expecting her second child, Carole Middleton confirmed pregnancy rumours in March 2021.
