Kate Beckinsale reveals the surprising Royal Family member she'd like to play
Kate Beckinsale revealed which member of the British monarchy she'd most like to portray at the National Film Awards in London on Monday
Kate Beckinsale has shared the Royal Family member she'd like to play on-screen – and it may not be who you'd think.
The English actor didn't hesitate when asked on Monday evening which 'character' from the British monarchy she'd most enjoy portraying – and no, it's not the Duchess of Cambridge.
Speaking on the red carpet at the National Film Awards in London yesterday, Kate chatted fondly about her love for English culture – something she misses dearly whilst living at her main residence in Los Angeles.
Having recently celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Kate's also a keen supporter of the Royal Family – so much so, that she even knows which of its senior members she'd like to play on screen.
"Prince Charles," she told woman&home, before adding, "I'd know that the wellies would be right, I feel like I'd know what to do with Prince Charles."
The preference to play the future King may surprise some royal fans, considering Kate Beckinsale's strong resemblance to the Duchess of Cambridge. The Jolt star was even mistaken for Kate Middleton back in 2019, when a US publication used a photo of the 40-year-old royal in an article that was about the English actor's hospitalization for an erupted ovarian cyst.
Always one to find the funny side, Kate B responded publicly by taking to Instagram with a witty message.

"So moved and touched by all the kind wishes I have received over the last few days and staggered by the similar and worse stories my #cysters have been sending me. I am feeling much better and I hope all the other girls going through it are too. Back to resume my royal duties. William says hi," she wrote, much to the delight of her 5.4m followers.
Kate won Best Actress for her performance in the action-comedy, Jolt, at last night's National Film Awards, having also scooped up the same accolade for her role in Farming back in 2021.
She accepted her dazzling trophy in a glittery silver dress by Julian McDonald, which she paired with Sophia Webster 'Rita' sandals and extravagant drop earrings.
She took to Instagram on Tuesday to share her gratitude for the nod, writing, "Thank you so much @nationalfilmawards for my best actress award for Jolt and a really lovely evening. Thanks so much to everyone who voted."
