Duchess of Cambridge shows support for Giovanni Fletcher after podcast appearance
Catherine opened up about being a mum on Giovanni Fletcher’s podcast, Happy Mum, Happy Baby.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been praised by fans after her candid appearance on Giovanni Fletcher’s parenting podcast, Happy Mum, Happy Baby, which was released yesterday.
Giovanni shared the news of her special podcast guest on her Instagram page, posting audio clips from the show. The Kensington Palace Instagram page, which is the official Instagram page of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William, commented on Giovanni’s post, with raising hand emojis.
Giovanni wrote alongside the clip, ‘From the very first series of the podcast I’ve always named The Duchess as my dream guest, so to be presenting this to you today is utterly incredible.’
The Duchess of Cambridge on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast
Giovanni Fletcher, McFly singer Tom Fletcher’s wife, started the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast to give a lifeline to mums, discussing the common challenges many face with motherhood.
The mum-of-three was refreshingly honest about the highs and lows of being mum to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
One of the themes discussed was mum guilt. When asked if this was something the Duchess of Cambridge had ever experienced, she responded, "Yes absolutely – and anyone who doesn't as a mother is actually lying! Yep – all the time, yep – and you know even this morning, coming to the nursery visit here – George and Charlotte were like 'Mummy how could you possibly not be dropping us off at school this morning?'

“But no it's a constant challenge – you hear it time and time again from mums, even mums who aren't necessarily working and aren't pulled in the directions of having to juggle work life and family life… and always sort of questioning your own decisions and your own judgements and things like that, and I think that starts from the moment you have a baby!"
The Duchess also discussed how important it is for children to spend time outside, connecting with nature.
The Duchess revealed, "I’ve got this one photo of Charlotte smelling a bluebell, and really for me it’s moments like that mean so much to me as a parent, and I try everyday to put moments like that in even if they’re small or even if I don’t have time... but that in an ideal world is what I would like to do."
Giovanni then posted the photograph in question on her Instagram feed with an encouraging caption, that read, ‘Love the way The Duchess of Cambridge spoke about this picture of Princess Charlotte sniffing a bluebell. Life is busy. Life is hectic. Life is full of noise and demands.
‘But when little moments like this occur they remind you there is beauty in the simplicity. In the peace. In curiosity. In love.'
