Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, reveals ‘terror’ at this part of parenthood
Terrifying!
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has admitted it was “terrifying” unveiling Prince George on the steps of the Lindo Wing, just hours after giving birth.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has confessed it was “terrifying” making a public appearance just hours after giving birth to her first child.
The royal - who shares three children with Prince William - made the admission on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast, Happy Mum, Happy Baby.
She said, “Yeah, it was slightly terrifying. I'm not going to lie. It's hard to compartmentalise the whole thing.
"Because you know, everyone had been so supportive. William and I were really conscious that this was something that everyone was excited about.
"And we were hugely grateful for all the support that the public had shown us. And actually for us to be able to share that joy and appreciation with the public, I felt that was really important.
"But equally, it was coupled with a newborn baby and inexperienced parents, and the uncertainty about what that held. There were a lot of mixed emotions."

The Duchess’ iconic interview with Giovanna Fletcher has resurfaced after it emerged that Giovanna would be appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
It’s not the first time Duchess Catherine has proved what a down-to-earth mum she is.
The Duchess of Cambridge recently revealed her favourite pastime with the kids and often entertains the three children like any other mum would.
The family retreated to their Norfolk home of Amner Hall during lockdown, but Catherine made sure the kids spent as much time outdoors as possible.
The Duchess of Cambridge is passionate about campaigning to get children to spend as much time in nature as possible, and it's a philosophy she applies to her own family all the time.
In fact, just recently, Catherine has leant her support to a new 'Backyard Nature' initiative, which was set up by schoolchildren living in cities, to encourage other young people to become 'environmental guardians'.
