Why Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, won’t attend Princess Eugenie’s wedding
This year, we’re being treated to not one but two royal weddings.
Back in May, we watched asPrince Harry and Meghan Marklesaid, ‘I do,’ in a beautiful ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. Their big day made headlines across the world, and their guest list was crammed with celebrity names.
Victoria and David Beckham, George and Amal Clooney, Oprah – the stars came out in force to celebrate their nuptials.
And according to rumours, they had a bevy of famous faces performing at the after party, too, with the Spice Girls reportedly part of the line up.
But they’re not the only royals who are walking down the aisle this year. Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will be exchanging vows this weekend, and everyone’s interest is piqued. Who has designed her dress? Who will be attending?
Well there’s one person who’ll be skipping the event, according to royal commentator Victoria Arbiter – and that’s Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
Prince Charles’ wife will reportedly miss what will undoubtedly be a day to remember, and it’s because she already has plans.

Arbiter took to Twitter to explain, “I know it seems odd that Camilla’s missing Eugenie’s wedding but it doesn’t indicate any malice or ill-feeling.
“Royals don’t like to disappoint. Given she’d already committed to attending a school event it’s duty first.”
She continued, “Royals often miss family events for pre-scheduled engagements. It’s at a school and was scheduled long before.
“I expect she doesn’t want to disappoint the children. She will have spoken to Eugenie about it.”
Reports suggest that Camilla is due to visit a school in Scotland on the same day, something which was arranged before Eugenie had set a date.
