Harry and Meghan share stunning pictures from Archie’s christening
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex melted hearts by sharing sweet images from their son’s special day on Instagram.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury in an intimate service at Windsor Castle’s Private Chapel on Saturday morning. But while fewer than 25 guests were lucky enough to attend, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave us all a glimpse of the special day thanks to the magic of social media.
‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son,’ they wrote. ‘They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment.’
The couple shared two images from the day with their 8.9 million Instagram followers. The first was a family portrait, which pictured the proud parents seated alongside Charles and Camilla, William and Kate, and Meghan’s mother Doria, as well as Harry’s aunts, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale (Princess Diana’s older sisters). The second shot was an intimate black and white photo showing Harry, Meghan and Archie gazing sweetly at each other.
Well-wishers rushed in to offer their congratulations, liking the picture more than 2.3 million times in a matter of hours. Even Gwyneth Paltrow took to her keyboard to write: ‘What a beautiful picture.’
‘So gorgeous!’ a fan agreed. ‘I love that Harry included his aunts as a tribute to his mother. Archie is beautiful.’
‘He is as adorable as I thought he would be. Harry’s face and Meghan’s eyes. So sweet and so lovely to see the Spencers represented,’ another agreed.

Others couldn’t help but comment on how beautiful Prince William’s wife Kate looked. The Duchess of Cambridge accessorised her pink Stella McCartney dress with her late mother-in-law’s Collingwood Pearl earrings, which Diana wore to Harry’s christening in 1984, in a sweet tribute.
‘HRH The Duchess of Cambridge looks stunning as usual,’ wrote one fan. ‘Kate is so beautiful!’ another added.
And of course, Archie looked as adorable as ever, wearing a handmade replica of the royal christening gown originally commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1841.
We hope they all had a wonderful day.
