Who are Jerry Hall's ex-partners and children amid Rupert Murdoch divorce claims?
Jerry Hall is best known for her modelling success and she's found love with some seriously huge stars over the years...
Jerry Hall has long been in the public eye and many fans might be wondering more about the model’s relationships over the years amid recent Rupert Murdoch divorce claims.
Model and actor Jerry Hall has been married to media mogul Rupert Murdoch for six years and has previously been in relationships with Rolling Stones icon Mick Jagger and Bryan Ferry. Beginning her hugely successful career in the 1970s, she’s appeared in Batman and Princess Caraboo as well as being the face of Revlon and Yves Saint Laurent Opium perfume and a Strictly Come Dancing contestant. Throughout her time in the public eye, Jerry’s given fans intriguing insights into her approach to life, relationships and parenthood.
But how many times has Jerry Hall been married, who were her exes and who are her children?
How many times has Jerry Hall been married?
Just like fellow stars including Reese Witherspoon and Meghan Markle, Jerry Hall has been married twice. However, her first marriage was later declared not to have been legally valid, meaning some consider her to have only actually been married once. For anyone wondering how old the supermodel was when she first tied the knot, Jerry was 34 when she and Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger married in Bali, Indonesia in a Hindu wedding ceremony in 1990. They are believed to have first become a couple back in 1977 and overall the couple were together for over two decades.
Jerry and Mick later separated and begun divorce proceedings in 1999, with The Guardian reporting that a High Court Judge ruled that year that their marriage was null and void. It was determined that their Bali ceremony was not valid in either British or Indonesian law. Following this, Jerry was granted a decree of nullity and both she and Mick were said to be relieved that the legal proceedings to end their relationship were over.
The model had originally filed for divorce in January, just a few months before Mick Jagger’s son Lucas with model Luciana Gimenez was born, with reports claiming that Jerry filed for divorce following this affair.
Despite their separation and the end of their decades-long romance, Jerry Hall and Mick remained committed to co-parenting their children. Discussing their relationship in an enlightening interview with The Guardian in 2014, the model explained how she and the Rolling Stones star worked to minimize the effects of their divorce on their kids.

“Even though Mick and I were divorced, we’ve tried hard to make a healthy environment for our children,” she said. “Things we’ve been very strict about are good manners and thoughtfulness to others. We’ve always had meals with them, so they have always interacted with adults and people from different walks of life, so they are able to make conversation – I think that’s a great skill to teach your children.”
Meanwhile, in 2015, Jerry Hall was first linked with media mogul Rupert Murdoch, whose News Corporation publishes everything from Fox News, to the Wall Street Journal, The Times and The Sun. A year after love is said to have blossomed between them, the couple married in London.
This marked Rupert’s fourth marriage and Jerry’s second, perceived by some as her first given the legal ruling regarding her and Mick’s ceremony. Jerry and Rupert are said to have held a private celebration at London’s St Bride’s Church in Fleet Street and the couple first announced their engagement in The Times. At the time the BBC reported that Jerry had an estimated net worth of around $15 million.
Now it’s been alleged that Jerry and Rupert Murdoch are reportedly set to divorce, though the couple haven’t personally confirmed the news. According to The New York Times, two anonymous people with “knowledge of the decision” suggested that this is the case, with a spokesperson for Rupert having “declined to comment”.
The couple have been pictured together several times at star-studded events since tying the knot and the recent reports come after six years of marriage for Jerry and Rupert.
Who are Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger’s kids?
Jerry Hall has four children with Mick Jagger - Georgia May, Elizabeth, James and Gabriel Jagger - and several of them have gone on to become household names just like their parents. The eldest of their children, Elizabeth, who is sometimes known as ‘Lizzy’, was born in 1984 and is now 38 years old.
Over the years the famous model and activist has been vocal about her support for the Equal Rights Amendment to the US Constitution. Speaking to Bustle in 2017, she explained she was doing “everything [she] possibly [could]” to ratify the ERA.
"I am regularly lobbying for the three-state strategy to remove the time limit on the ERA, S.J. Res. 5 and H.R. Res. 53, in Congress. When I'm not in Washington, D.C., I follow up with regular letters to my lawmakers urging them to sign on to pass the ERA,” she said.
The second of Jerry and Mick’s children, James, was born in 1985 and is 37 years old. He’s known for his role in the 2016 music-themed HBO series, Vinyl, as well as the horror film, Sound of Violence. Opening up to W magazine back in 2016, James reflected upon how he knew the role in Vinyl would reduce his anonymity, with Mick and Martin Scorsese creators of the show, and discussed his preference for generally keeping a lower profile.
“I’ve always enjoyed anonymity. But it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with Marty,” he said at the time. “I don’t know anyone who would say no, despite any weird moments I might experience on public transport.”
Georgia May Jagger, the couple’s third child, was born in 1992 and is 30. Also following in her famous mother’s fashion footsteps, Georgia May is best known as a model and designer and has worked with iconic brands ranging from Chanel to Pandora and Versace. And it seems that when it comes to the ultimate beauty advice, Georgia May was inspired by none other than her mom.
As she revealed to Byrdie last year, "My mom is very natural, she hasn't had any surgery. I'm always like, whatever makes you happy - but she really just believes in embracing yourself and not comparing yourself to others.”
“I learned from her to have fun with [beauty] and to not be afraid to be an individual. We don't all need to look the same. Embrace your flaws. It sounds cheesy, but it's true,” Georgia May added.
The youngest of Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger’s kids is Gabriel who was born in 1997 and is 25. It’s understood that he prefers to keep out of the limelight and isn’t as prominently in the public eye as many of his siblings. He founded whynow which brings articles, videos, podcasts and music to subscribers. In July 2021, Gabriel tied the knot with socialite Anouk Winzenried in Oxfordshire at the home of his step-father Rupert Murdoch.
Jerry Hall’s dating history: her notable ex
Perhaps the most prominent of Jerry Hall’s exes that didn’t go on to become her husband (but who was once engaged to the model) was Roxy Music star Bryan Ferry. The couple were first linked back in 1975 after the model appeared on the cover of one of his albums. They later became engaged within a matter of months, but sadly they went on to separate in 1977. Not long afterwards, Jerry is understood to have begun a relationship with Mick Jagger.
