When are the Golden Globes and how to watch them on TV
The 80th annual Golden Globes are happening next month and the nominations for the best films and TV shows of the year are already out
Although the Golden Globes were not broadcast last January following controversies involving the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the beloved awards show is officially making a comeback on January 10, 2023 on NBC.
According to an official announcement, comedian Jerrod Carmichael will host the 80th annual ceremony, which will shed light on some of the best performances of the year, including ones by Brendan Fraser in The Whale and Austin Butler in the Elvis movie.
WHAT ARE THE GOLDEN GLOBES?
The Golden Globe Awards have been led by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association since first debuting in January of 1944.
As of right now, the association boasts 105 members who recognize the very best films and TV shows on an American and international level through a variety of awards bestowed upon specific actors and whole movies/TV series.
All productions that were released within the calendar year are eligible for a nomination. More specifically, films must be at least 70 minutes long and must have been in playing in theaters for at least seven days before midnight on December 31 to be eligible. TV programs, on the other hand, must air in the United States between 8pm and 11pm for it to be considered for a nomination. Reality shows are automatically disqualified.
WHEN ARE THE GOLDEN GLOBES?
The 2023 Golden Globes will air on NBC on January 10 at 8pm.
The ceremony, which usually airs on a Sunday night, has been moved to Tuesday in order to avoid conflicts with the NFL, whose regular season will extend into January this year.

HOW TO WATCH THE GOLDEN GLOBES
The best way to watch the Golden Globes would be live on television on NBC. The show will also livestream on Peacock.
If you can’t catch it the night it airs, you’ll be able to stream the Golden Globes on both the NBC and Peacock apps the day after, on January 11.
