Ulrika Jonsson Reveals Regret Over Cheating On Her First Husband John Turnbull
Ulrika Jonsson has revealed her deep regret over cheating on her first husband, John Turnbull. The TV star, who has had a much-publicised love life, blamed her young age and inexperience for the indiscretion, which saw the end of her five-year marriage to the cameraman in 1995.
"I was so young. I didn't know myself," the 50-year-old told the Daily Mail's Weekend magazine. "I did some not very nice things. I was unfaithful, which is more than not nice," she added. But times have now changed for the former Gladiators presenter, who revealed she is a completely different person nowadays - especially after recently going through the menopause.
"I know I've changed," she stated. "The menopause has been to blame for some of that, but that's how it is, isn't it? I can't stop time."
Meanwhile, Ulrika, who is currently starring on Celebrity Masterchef, also spoke of the criticism she faces for having four children - sons Cameron, 23, and Malcolm, nine, and daughters Bo, 17, and Martha, 13 - by four different men.
">Ulrika and her husband Brian Monet with three of her children I never understood what the big deal was. I don't mean that in a flippant way," she said. "On paper it looks bad, but it wasn't as insane as it sounds. I mean, they were spaced out. I didn't charge into it thinking, ‘Quick, I must have another baby.'
"Following the demise of her first marriage, Ulrika dated footballer Stan Collymore before starting a relationship with German hotel boss Marcus Kempen, who walked out on her when their daughter Bo was just a few weeks old.
She then married her second husband, Lance Gerrard-Wright in 2003 and they welcomed their daughter Martha, now 13 years old, in 2004 before separating in 2005.
